THE ENVIRONMENT

When a laser toner cartridge is not remanufactured, it is most likely thrown away. It will eventually be placed into a landfill or other solid waste facility and there it will languish until it starts the arduous process of decomposing. Plastics account for about 8 percent of the weight and 20 percent of the volume in landfills. Cartridges are made mainly of plastic, which is a petroleum-based product. Fossil fuel, either oil or natural gas is used in the manufacturing process. Assuming that an average operator uses seven cartridges each year, that one person wastes enough oil to fill twenty 7-Eleven Big Gulps!

Digitech remanufactures over 800 cartridges per month, and therefore conserves about 1000 litres of oil each month that would be consumed in making new cartridges.A plow pushing garbage around in a landfill Digitech and our clients are directly responsible for withholding over 1,000 kilograms of plastic and waste metal from local landfills, or roughly the weight of three standard refrigerators, and that’s each month! We can all make a substantial environmental impact. Digitech can help you to do your part in preserving our resources for the continued enjoyment of current and future generations. Please become environmentally responsible.
